Not worth it

Pros longer pause time
Cons Much more difficult to use than the directivo.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  I don't recommend this receiver. It does not do what it claims, or what I bought it for. Hard to use, limited capabilities and unreliable.
I've had mine about 2 months.
The only extra feature that I like would be the extended pause time that records the show and gives the option to keep or not.
It does not distinguish between first runs and repeats, making the season pass feature not usable.
It is very slow at changing screens 3-5 seconds to respond when you push a button, causing the user to push the button again and ending up not where you are going. There are also several extra screens to go through making it much more time consuming just to get a season pass that records "everything"
The ffwd and rew are very unpredictable and sometimes jump to the beginning or end. The time line at the bottom isn't accurate.
I've had to reboot because it froze up a couple times already.
Also the sound sometimes doesn't work and you have to stop and start a few times to get it back.
I called directv when we first got it to see if there was anything else available if we took it back. They offered to send us something random out of their warehouse if we wanted to send it back, but couldn't guarantee it would even be another dvr. (It is still under warranty!)
We have had directv for 10 years (happily) and will be leaving directv when our two years is up if not sooner. When I call and ask a question (even something simple) I am treated rudely (all depts I've talked to) I was even hung up on. They used to be really nice and appreciate their customers. Now they say "oh well, if your not happy with the reciever (or service) we would be happy to cancel your service, but there will be a fee." I would probably be more likely to pay the early cancellation fee than to call them again. All because I said that my new receiver doesn't seem to be working quite like it says in the manual.

This one is quite frustrating and the worst piece of equipment we've had to date. I definitely regret buying it.
I'm sure it won't last long.
