NOT a Good iPhone Clone

Pros Fairly inexpensive; lots of things it sort of does.
Cons Does nothing well; features missing; equipment missing. Don't get it!
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Run screaming away from this phone! It's not as advertised and doesn't compare to the iPhone. Not worth the money. Choose another phone.
I purchased this phone (called by many names, including SciPhone, i68, and P168). In any regard it's from CECT. Looking at the listing and some reviews I've found for it online I fully expected it to be competitive to the iPhone. Everyone seemed to be saying it was much better than the iPhone. This is not the case.

It advertises itself as having FM Radio. It doesn't and there's no mention of that in the meager manual they supply. The advertisements all suggest a car charger comes with it. It doesn't. The headphone jacks are proprietary, as is the miniUSB connection (uses the same jack). Some claim that it's both quad band and useable by all major carriers. It's only tri-band (doesn't operate on the 850 MHz band) and only works with SIM-based carriers.

The screen smudges very easily and in no way compares to the glass one that Apple uses for their iPhone, which is more smudge resistant. This should have been obvious since they supply a stylus.

You can turn it off and connect it to a computer and throw JPG's, 3GP videos, and MP4 videos on it. However, MP4 videos have a mux/demux problem with the sound interpretation and the sound lags far behind the video. The phone claims to have the iPhone ability of turning a picture or video and it automatically adjusting the image using an inner gyroscope. This is not at all the case. You can manually click a button when it's playing and it will go "full screen", tilting the image 90 degrees, but this is not automatic and all and clicking the screen only puts it back 90 degrees and in a windowed screen.

The phone has external speakers but you can't turn up the sound much before there's a disturbing amount of distortion. The sound from the earphones is much clearer, but if you put the sound up to the max it still isn't terribly loud. You can use a user-defined JPG image as a background wallpaper, which is nice.

More on the video: If you want to play videos you have to go through a few menus and when you finally select one you like you have to press 'Play' which is fine, but all that does is open up the player with the video ready to play. It doesn't actually play until you manually press another play button.

With images, you have to go through several menus.. Multimedia/Image Viewer/ and then you have a list of images in a very large font. If you click one, it doesn't show it to you, it shows you a menu asking what you want to do with it. That's okay, I just hit 'View' and I see it, but once again you can tilt the phone or shake it all you want and it won't do anything. You have to hit a circled-arrow button to have it change 90 degrees to see it length-wise on the screen and then again to bring it back the 90 degrees. Not terribly pleased with their claims of that auto-gyro turning out to be blatantly false.

Auto-advancing. The phone claims that you advance songs by shaking the phone. Do that all you want but it will be in vain. You have once again do it manually.

It's almost funny (if it weren't so pathetic), but all these little cool features the phone makers claim they incorporated in the phone either are very poorly implemented or don't exist at all. There's no tilt, no auto-next function, no fm radio, the video quality is poor, external speakers are poor, connections are proprietary, camera is poor. It's the little phone that couldn't.
