DURABRAND DUR7 7 in. Portable DVD Player

The portable dvd player we had was sitting on our nightstand when suddenly it made a crackling noise and burst into flames. The player was not running at the time, but luckily we were in the room so our entire house did not burn down. We owned 2 of them the other had problems with over heating and shutting off. We did lose part of our bedroom set from fire damage. On further research of durabrand products we found other problems with overheating and fire hazard. I don't think I will ever buy another product from them again. We are now looking into hiring a lawyer to recover property damage from their defective merchandise. I am only posting this because we owned 2 of them as I stated previously, one which we had a overheating problem with and the second that suddenly burst into flames with no warning. I want people to be aware of the danger of this product. We had only went into the room where the dvd player was at about 5 minutes before it happened, if we had not have happened to go into the room or if we were not at home at the time it happened our house would have burned to the ground and we would have lost all our belongings as well as all our pets would have lost their lives.
