Yes
The Bottom Line:
Worked well and is good for the home or cars that don't have passengers in the back seat because of the sound.
I bought this from WalMart as an inexpensive means of entertainment for long and frequent car trips. It came with a hand held remote, plug in charger, and car charger. We first tried it out at home and it worked great. The sound was a little low and would not get higher, but it was loud enough to hear in the house. We took it on a road trip and plugged it into the the lighter with the car charger. It worked well and played DVDs and CDs but again the sound was not good. Also, if you keep the screen on the same page too long - such as when you're listening to cds - the image would burn into the screen and stay there for a good period of time so we couldn't listen to music on there for more an an hour without worrying of the imprint.
We enjoyed the fact that the dvd player lid was slow to open and remained shut even with the moving about in the van so we didn't have to worry about it opening up and a button being hit or the screen getting broken. The hard covering on the outside is also great and keeps out any stray crumbs or mess. The bottom gets very hot, though, and it was difficult to hold or set somewhere else in the car because if you didn't have it nearby, you couldn't hear the sound very well. We could only plug the player into he front lighter and the people in the back seat could not hear it, so that was a major turn off. Also, it's made to be portable yet it only has a 90 day guarantee. We've had nothing major happen to it, but if we took it on a trip now, a year later, we couldn't get it fixed because we couldn't get an extended guarantee.
Over all, it plays well. We have only had one instance where the dvd would not go past the opening page but that was fixed by simply turning the player off and on again. The sound is really the biggest hassle about this player, followed by how hot it gets in a short span of time.
