Almost a fantastic purchase, except for the controller.

Pros Quick installation, can't make it skip, great changer for the price.
Cons Only one...the piece of crap controller. Should have been a remote, not a cord connection!!
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I definitely recommend this item...maybe I just got a bad controller from the company. If it were wireless, it would be 5 stars, easily!!
I purchased this cd changer, for two reasons. One, I didn't want to put much into a changer, just in case someone breaks into my Jeep. Also, it stated on the box, that it will play mp3's. And at the price of 94 dollars and some change, I said "I'll take it".

Installation was a breeze, and probably took me 2 hours to get it bolted in, connected, and playing. So far, after using it for two weeks, it plays extremely well!! I've tried my best to make it skip and it continues to play skip free music.

I haven't had the time to make any mp3's yet, but the cd-rs that I made a few months ago, all work well with this system. Also, haven't had one problem with it playing commercial cd's.

Now, the only two problems I've come across are related to the controller. The controller for this item is not a remote!! Its just a controller that plugs into an fm module, which connects into the cd changer. What is already bothering me, is that the cord, is starting to come out of the bottom of the controller...thus causing a (ground?) wire to start to slowly split in two. I've already had to remove two screws from the controller, push the cord back into the controller and tighten it down. I'm afraid after some more use, it will become a problem.

Also, Durabrand did not include some sort of controller "holder" to attach to your dash. So, unless you use the velcro to attach the controler to your dash...which I hate using, cause it just looks tacky that way...you can leave it lying on your car seat or lap. Just something that really bothers me after the purchase. Plus, with the more use it takes to attach it to your dash...I keep it hidden under my seat, to burglar proof it as much as possible...the more wear and tear to the controller wire.

So, other than the controller wire being a hassle, and possibly a future problem, I think this is a great purchase for someone who wants a cd changer at a low cost. Just know my next cd changer purchase will DEFINITELY have a remote controller and not a cord style controller.
