Everything Eclipse, but the price

Pros Price, Sound, Detachable Face Plate, and Eclipse reliability.
Cons They need a commercial for this!
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Eclipse did the people a favor by making the Eclipse CD1000 stereo. Highly Recommended!
For once, Eclipse finally came out with a more affordable aftermarket stereo. After being a loyal Eclipse fan since the early 1990's, I have been a true Eclipse Stereo user. I've used their cassette players and cd players for years religiously and have always been a true fan.

There's really nothing that can compare to the Eclipse brand of stereos, especially for the price. I love the fact that if someone steals your Eclipse CD player, they need a key code, which is set by you, to activate it, otherwise it is useless to thieves and they can't do anything with it except for possibly give it back to you.

Now, about the Eclipse CD1000, perhaps the main reason I got it other than price and the Eclipse Reliability was the fact that it had a detachable face plate! Something i've never had from an Eclipse stereo before. I usually buy the Eclipse flagship model stereos, my last being the Eclipse CD8454, which cost aroud $600, and it never had a detachable face. The CD1000 features a nice detachable face plate and the looks are simple, yet plain and stylish enough to frown when people look at it.

When I first installed this stereo, I was impressed because my parents have Pioneer aftermarket CD players in their cars that cost $60 more than what I paid for the Eclipse CD1000. Their Pioneer cd players couldn't come close the sound produced from the CD1000. I was very impressed and the sound was crisp and clear and did not sound like a stereo with its price tag. The adjustability of the sound is just right, nothing fancy but you can control all the basics such as bass, treble, mid, etc.

For the price, the CD1000 is an absolute steal especially for an audiophile on a budget which was me. I got this on ebay barely used for $70 shipped and I can not look back at my purchase because I would have paid double, if not more than double what I paid for it. Quit wasting your time at Walmart or browsing the sale section of Best Buy's ads, just go to ebay or an Eclipse stereo dealer and pick this bad boy up! You will not be disappointed.
