The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this above the others because of durability.
Within the sad eyes of a three year old, most promises that are heard by a father become true. Whether you are convinced,(by her) that she needs a car for Ken because Barbie doesn't share her car, or a Barbie television for her room because she can't sleep at night, you get it. This is in no intention of mentioning that a mother wouldn't bend over backwards herself, just nearly stating a fact-over-decision. For a dad, this is a fact, for a mother, this is a decision. Therefore making a decision was not an option for buying this Television. It had to be bought.
This PINK/purple television comes with attached flowers and a butterfly that gives the television a life of it's own. With the "70's era" flower power flowers vinyled not only on the T.V., but the remote also. There is no confusion to which remote is hers and which remote is mine. Coming out with a 13" screen is perfect for the little girls in your life. It's minimal enough to set in any corner of her room, and takes very little space, but any smaller than this, I wouldn't recommend, (see cons #1).
The audio and video input jacks in front makes plugging in a game or DVD/VHS an easy task, no more reaching behind the television. The power button is created to look like a one inch pink gem, giving off a "diamond" effect and the standby light is surrounded by a picture of a flower. The remote is also pink with darker pink rubber buttons(The remote is actually handled better if the adult held onto it, if you are watching with your child(ren),(see cons #2). With the "auto-tuning" option, you don't have to look all day for the local pre-selected channels. The headphone jack is another option,(not recommended for children under three).
With the option of buying the separate DVD player, this television will hookup to your average DVD player, but it doesn't look as pretty-in-pink. Overall, this is an outstanding product, durable, with enough features to handle any young girl.
PROS
There are several types of models aimed towards today's kids and one of the MOST popular models is a PRINCESS model. This television is infested with bad reviews, general ratings, and most importantly, starting to fill up the return shopping carts at Walmart. The overall appearance might win heads up against the Barbie version, (of couse, it has a tiara on the top), but the quality is less than standard and the general consumer population is starting to catch on.
CONS
#1 Children like to "scoot" close to televisions, and this television gives them the impression that they need to move closer to see. I've noticed the girls seem to get too close to this television only. It's best recommended to show your little one's how close they're allowed to get to these smaller T.V's
#2 The "source" and "menu" option button are also in the front cabinet of this T.V. The children often lose their program to a different input selection, or worse, they turn the colors bright, or select tint, making you think the T.V is actually broke. this option needs to be put somewhere besides the front. (how many times must a adult get up a day to fix this thing)?
In accordance to the rules and regulations of becoming a responsible father, certain rules apply that come from and are enforceable by our daughters. Whether your daughter is a princess or a tomboy, ALL dads want to make sure their daughters are happy!
