Emerson RP6248, a nice radio, for a portable.
Pros
One Touch Instant Weather, Digital Clock.
Cons
Antenna needs to be pulled fully for me, because theres tons of electricity outside.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Emerson just needs to put a fully metal antenna on the radio, and make it extend a lot longer. But overall, a nice radio.
We purchased this radio from Kmart last saturday for a little under 20 bucks.
BTW, I have the same exact radio except black, the Rp6249.
I at first I was ready to takc it back, because the reception was very touchy, and my computer caused a lot of interfearance.
But then, we realized that the antenna need to put all the way, and this is because I live right on the outside of tons of electrical interfearance besides my computer, and we have a sattelite dsh out front.
However, once I put the antenna all the way up, and pushed the weather, the reception was well, with minor clicking, but thats because of all the electric outside of my windows, because obviously it works prefect on the counter.
The FM band, especially has distortion, if the antenna is not all the way up.
Also, the antenna grounder tip, is plastic, and it still does pretty well for being a pladtic grounder tip.
However, It works even better, if we put tinfoil on the tip, but since it defetes the pourpouse of putting the antena up completly, we might put a couple strips of invisible tape on it, so that it also still looks normal.
Overall, its not a bad radio, and I give 4 stars, only because of the plastic antenna tip.
