Good CD player, so-so skip protection
Pros
nice looking brushed steel/aluminum packman shell plays mp3's and cd/rw's
Cons
maximum 300 .mp3 song's .cda skip protection is iffy can't choose between .cda and .mp3
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I would get it if you want many functions for a lower budget.
~Bought CD player at Wal-Mart
~I bought it because of the style, features, quality, and price
~I've had about 1,000 hrs listening experience with .cda format CD's and about 250 hrs with .mp3 CD's through this CD player.
It comes with a nice pair of headphones, they fit small to fairly large heads, and they pick up the bass and treble quite nicely.
The equalizer does make a difference with how the music sounds, however, if you use bass-boosted headphones/stereo, the 'dbl bass' setting can make the lower to mid quality headphone and subwoofer magnets rattle to some degree.
The case is quite sturdy, so you don't have to worry about breaking it too easily.
~What I don't like about this CD player is:
A) With the .cda CD anti-shock, it does last the stated time, but where it would normally skip under hard bumps, it comes up with a blank spot. I don't know if this is normal, but it can affect the listening experience. The .mp3 shock protection is much better.
B) The batteries like to stick in the battery compartment, which is accessible internally.
C) I tried to listen to the audio track on the game CD for Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds, and only got the .mp3 vocal tracks.
D) Without the skip protection on, you have to keep the CD player on a low to mid vibration/jerking surface. I have found, as with all of my CD players, if you rotate the CD player vertically, it reduces the skipping dramatically.
E) Only a headphone jack is offered.
~Overall, I like this CD player, and wouldn't part with it over the other possible selections, due to the bang for the buck.
