I broke a Sony Walkman radio by dropping it on the ground, so I was looking to buy a new radio to replace it. I live in central NJ about halfway between New York and Philadelphia, and very close to the NJ 101.5 tower. I bought a Coby CX-9 from a drugstore, and I was dissatisfied with its performance, since it overloaded from the strong signal on 101.5 from 2 miles away. I then looked online and bought this radio from Radio Shack in a mall less than a mile from the tower. I turned it on as soon as I got in my car, and I was impressed with its performance. It got all of the stations from New York and Philly with no overloading. I have used this radio while running outside, and I have noticed that it works better than my car radio on FM. It rivals the performance of my Grundig YB400PE on FM. On shortwave, I can hear stations from all over the world 24/7, but it's not as good as the Grundig YB400PE.
