Considering this receiver for ease of installation?

Pros Good: Fast install. Better: Equally fast uninstall.
Cons My infinity speakers sounded like they were mounted on the outside of the car.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Spend the extra time for the install of the Sirius receiver, you don't want to sacrifice the quality of the amp and features.
I cannot tell you how excited I was that I would have Sirius installed within twenty minutes (time to connect the harness). Nor can I tell you how disappointed I was in this receiver. But, I will try.

The idea of not running wires underneath floor panels, into the trunk and having multiple 12v connections pushed me into this receiver. About three days after installation, Sirius ceased to carry PRI, my favorite radio station. I was more than happy to tear this thing out of my dash and replace it, even if it meant I would lose an afternoon to the installation of the next unit.

The Sirius receiver was indeed crammed into the same profile of any other similarly sized unit, but at great expense. The internal amp completely flattened out above conversation level volume. I'm not 17 years old and trying to rock out with the windows down and drive slow past the honey on the corner... I'm an old man that wanted to listen to music just loud enough I couldn't hear my phone ring. But, when that was done with this receiver, it reminded me of the alarm clock radio I had in my room as a child. The sound of that speaker maxing out against that fake woodgrain speaker vent, cracking and snappin where vocals were supposed to be. It was not good.

You can change the time on the clock, and there are minor adjustments (read, very minor) with the treble and bass, but to do this is a tedious task. I'm allergic to manuals as much as the next guy, but the time adjustment option requires button pushing rivaled by the German submarine Enigma code machine.

This product was not a mild disappointment. It was actually offensive. If this same design team were assigned to develop cellular phones, rotary dials and 12 inch extendable antenna's might make a momentary comeback.
