The Bottom Line:
If you want to save money, this is a descent device but worse than the Mio C310x.
You just about can't beat this GPS for the price except for the Mio C310x. It has a very slim form factor, it can fit easily in my back pocket. The leather case included fits the unit perfectly and is very useful when you have it in your back pocket. The GPS signal is solid. The signal doesn't cut out when you simply drive under an overpass. I can get signal inside my house when I'm within ten feet of the window (especially because of the swiveling antenna). Although, it's only has a twelve channel GPS receiver. That's about the end of the positive. The 350 has a glossy, non-matte finish that makes it difficult to view in sunlight. The speaker is horrible and sounds like it's straining itself at full volume. The icons and keyboard are very small on the screen making it difficult to use your fingers to select options. You almost have to use the stylus supplied with the 350 which is inconvenient in the car. The buttons to the right can perform many of the functions that are normally done on the screen. It's a little slow navigating through menus and calculating routes on the map since the map must be completely loaded on the SD card. The car mount is very difficult to get in and out of at first until you find your own best way to flex the hard plastic. There is no option to enter coordinates for geo-caching. There is no USB cable supplied with the 350, but it uses the universal mini USB port, so finding a cable isn't too hard. There is no Text to Speech, no Bluetooth, and no street names in 3D view. It runs WinCE 4.2 which leaves it open to be hacked (like the Mio C310x) to perform some cool functions like video playback. I'm not completely dissatisfied with the FineDrive 350 because of the price and size.
