I bought this VCR because I previously had a Fisher and it served me well. I got it on Amazon for $149. Let's face it, in this price range most VCR's have the same features and the average person can't distinguish picture quality. What I like about this machine are a couple of subtle things. First, when searching the tape, when you press play it immediately stops scanning and plays (there isn't a delay). This is handy for me because I do some editing and copying to another machine. Another thing I like is that the rewind is VERY fast. I also like the time counter to be visible on the machine.
One thing I still don't get is the "commercial skip" feature. It sounded like it would fast forward through the commercials and then automatically play when they are over, but that apparently was too good to be true. Other than that minor issue, I'm very happy.
