Worst example of video recorder
Pros
Small and disposable
Cons
Not really HD, limited lens, short battery life
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Cannot recommend unless you want a disposable video camera
First off, 'Ultra HD' is very misleading. The quality is barely better than 480p, certainly not the 720p you see from the current crop of DSLRs. Second, I have yet to get the FlipShare video program working, so if anyone out there doesn't already have video editing software that can handle mp4 codecs, you have a high likelihood of being hosed. I'm fairly computer savvy, so despite thoroughly ensuring the Flip hardware services were installed and running, neither the old nor new versions could be made to work with windows xp. Third: There is NO image stabilization that I can see on this thing, so if you don't like Cloverfield type filming as if an epileptic gorilla were operating the device, this is not for you.
To add to the stupidity of the product design: It can record for 2 hours, but the battery when fully charged is only good for 1 hour. Just how big a moron was the chief product developer?
It's a last-line piece of junk for video recording. I got it as a gift, so any place I need a disposable recorder, this will be it. There will be no tears shed when this thing stops functioning. Don't bother buying.
