Incredible Image Quality

Pros Image Quality, No Noise at ISO 1600
Cons Cheap Nikon Body.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Perfect color, 16x20's from JPG's, great detail, no better camera at any price except the top of the line Canon. If you are shooting action, skip this.
I am sure if you are reading this review, you know all about the camera. I believe a lot of this is subjective, but this camera has really amazed me. Here are the real positive points:

1. At ISO 1600 there is no noise or black spots.
2. If shooting in JPG mode, needs more sharpening, so I shoot at higher sharpness.
3. The only thing I have seen produce a better image is the top of the line Canon EOS-1dsII - but for $5500 more, it should. Nikon just can't seem to figure out the color pallet.
4. The dynamic range has saved me more than a few times.
5. White Balance is superb.

Here are the bad points:

1. Nikon knows if they sold Fuji a decent body, it would errode Nikon's sales dramatically, so I have to use the cheap N80 body.
2. If you are shooting sports, forget this camera. It is just too slow - get the Canon.
3. I have found Fuji's RAW converter too difficult to use, I use Photoshop's instead.
4. Fuji's camera shooting software has had a tendency to lock up, though it could be another issue and not the software.

Closest thing to film I have used. This camera will not work for sports or action. I really like the rechargable AA's. I have found the Ray-O-Vacs give me about 500 exposures per charge, not using the flash. I have an extra battery holder, and just slap it in when I run out of power. Speaking of the on-camera flash, glue it shut - it has no value - go get the Nikon SB-800 - unbelievable!

I sent the camera in to Fuji for a buffer upgrade, (I like the upgrade when shooting in RAW), they turned around the camera in 4 days. When I sent my F5 into Nikon for repair, it took 3 months. Fuji obviously has the service thing figured out.

Fuji is supposed to have a new S5 coming (what happened to the S4?), I may have to fork over for that as I am told it has a pro body.
