The Bottom Line:
I recommend this DVD player and found it very easy to set-up and use. Remote control works great. Effective up to about 12-15 feet (possibly more).
I purchased this DVD player approximately 8 months ago at 29.97. It is a simple DVD player with Single disk, remote control, and a coaxial cable. For such a small and inexpensive DVD player, this system has a fairly good resolution and sound for the price. I experienced no temporary freezes like my previous Samsung DVD that I replaced with this Magnavox. At 8 months and many DVD movies, I have had no problems. The remote control is easy to use. It includes the necessary functions: Zoom, Freeze Frame, Pause, Rewind, FF, and Play. The compact size of the DVD player allows you to store somewhere out of view. Instructions are easy to understand on operating the system, hook up to the T.V., and use of the remote control. If you are looking for a DVD player that is simple, compact, and inexpensive, then you should give this Magnavox a try. The quality picture from this DVD is basic 480p. Upgrading the to higher quality cables will not help. There is no Upconvert to increase the quality picture. If you want the HDMI effect or component cable resolution, then you may want to spend a little more. This DVD Player can be bought in 1 of 2 colors; Black or silver. Since it is compact, I can diconnect from my t.v. and easily pack it up and take it to a hotel or cabin when needed.
