I cant believe this....
Pros
Small footprint. I would consider it inexpensive, but it DOESNT WORK.
Cons
IT DOESNT WORK brand new out of the box!! what else needs said?
Recommended it?
No
Atleast its an easy review for me, I guess. I picked this DVD up knowing it was a cheap unit for my 4 yr olds room thinking I might pick up another for my room since my DVD recorder just died. I didnt expect alot for $30, but I expected it to last for a while with the Magnavox brand name. This is somewhat misleading since it also has Funai on it (are they one and the same?) and I would never consider it had I known.
Whatever its brand name I bought it tonight and pulled it out of the box and hooked it up to the JVC 42" LCD. I turned it on and saw the power light come on and noticed the background on the TV turned blue, as it should. The problem was it would NOT open the DVD tray or show any other reaction to input AT ALL. It would display an icon that it was opening the door/tray, but would never open. Multiple attempts netted the same outcome, a BRAND NEW, OUT OF THE BOX NONFUNCTIONING DVD player. Walmart here I come.
