The Bottom Line:
I would definitely recommend this remote to anyone with too many remote syndrome.
Hi. We like this remote so much we now have 3 of them. All purchased at Dollar General for under $10. All 3 of our entertainment setups in the house have a TV, DVD player, and VCR. Our DVD players are now all Sanyo (one used to be a Lasonic), the VCRs are Emerson, Sanyo, and RCA; the TVs are Orion, RCA and Symphonic. So we have a range of brands. It automatically found the codes for both RCA products, which is really nice. And all the other codes on the included sheet worked for our other brands. It has so many more functions than other universal remotes we've had. It can access most of our brands menus (can't seem to pull up the Sanyo VCR menu, or the DVD player setup menus, but I've yet to find a remote that can besides the manufacturer one.) It is a little large, but it has a nice curve in the middle that fits your hand very well. You just press the button for the unit you want (VCR, TV, DVD, Aux...) and then press the button you want (volume, channel, etc.). It can control 7 different things at the same time, a rarity in its price range from what I saw. Most that can operate even a DVD and VCR at the same time are over $20. This can be coded for a TV, VCR, Cable box/Satellite, DVD, Audio, Auxillary, DVR.
Some functions on the remote:
-channel up/down, and number keypad
-volume up/down
-VCR/DVD play, stop, rewind, forward, pause, record
-TV/VCR button
-"M" button, pulls up menus
-mute
-closed captions
-menu navigation buttons
-channel guide
-chapter selection (DVD)
-CD/Tape/Tuner selector (Audio)
-Page up/down for digital on screen guide
And more
