GE should stick to Household Appliances

Pros Wireless mouse that inexpensive and has good optical quality
Cons Almost everything, it died in 2 months, and can't scroll, is sluggish.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  frowns upon GE!
After having problems with my Gateway optical mouse, I took a trip to the local Target to look for and inexpensive mouse. Not really a computer master yet, I was looking at wireless mice, which I know now are not great for online gaming. Seeing a wireless mouse from GE was sort of a shock at first because I though the company only made appliances. So for a quick fix I bought the $25 GE wireless optical mouse. When I got it home I plugged it in and start to play Battlefield Vietnam with some of my friends. After a while I noticed the mouse was being increasingly sluggish and did not have the reflexs of my old Gateway mouse. After getting killed a million times from not being able to whip around I quit the game to look for some bands on the internet.

While looking for bands on the internet I became increasingly concerned. Not with the music, but my recently purchased mouse. This mouse was not only cheap monetarily, but also in the way of quality. While scrolling web pages of certain bands I noticed that the mouse could not scroll smoothly and it took my several tries to go down the whole page. Eventually I found myself using the arrow keys because they worked more efficiently. Since I had never made a bad purchase from Target before I was convinced that it was just a fluke. But now several people have had the same problem as me.

After taking the wireless mouse and putting it on my laptop I still found it to be quite sluggish. Since I only use AIM and the internet on my laptop I figured I could live with the proceeding problems for a while. Then almost exactly 2 months after the purchase I turned on my laptop and not mouse. Supposedly the mouse had died and was not able to be repaired. After a furious uphill battle trying to get the mouse to work I gave up and let the GE wireless mouse go out with the trash.

Even though this mouse has a reasonable wireless distance and pretty good optical quality, at 800 dpi. It suffers desperately from horrible electrical interference, sluggishness in fast-paced games, and awful scrolling capabilities.

THE VERDICT:

Seriously, there are some great wireless mice out there from some name brand companies, but this is not one of them. I hate to bash on a product, but this rightfully needs it. With a $25 price tag it may seem cheap, but GE gives you what you pay for. If you want a wireless mouse look for a Logitech, which I later purchased, or even if you just want an optical, get like and IBM or Logitech or whatever. Please listen to what I have said it is important to try and stay away from this mouse. Its list of features like a Post-it note, compared to its cons and electrical problems. So this is a no go save the money and buy another kind.

Thanks,
KV
