Pros lots of features, mostly accurate, got us where we wanted
Cons can take a bit to initially find your location
Recommended it? Yes

One of my friends from college works for Garmin, which means she is nice enough to get us discounts on their GPS products. Most recently we upgraded to the Garmin StreetPilot® c330 GPS Receiver and are no longer using the Garmin iQue® M5 GPS Receiver, but it served us well for about a year. It... Read full review »

Pros Complete PDA and GPS in one handheld unit
Cons Not very intuitive Long learning curve
Recommended it? Yes

I'm very pleased with my little iQue M5 GPS/PDA. While it's not perfect, it's pretty darn amazing. I had actually purchased a Lowrence iWay 350 GPS, but then my husband discovered the iQue on sale at Costco for about $100 more. With the iQue offering so many more features, I returned the Lowrence... Read full review »

Pros Music, Voice Nav, and Autorouting in one package
Cons Screen glare, no Wifi, not waterproof
Recommended it? Yes

Problem: How does one go about selecting a GPS Navigation System suitable for use on a motorcycle? After a disappointing experience with a small hand-held unit, I put together the following list of requirements:

1. Full autorouting with voice prompts and automatic rerouting when detoured... Read full review »

Garmin IQ M5 - Mixed Results

byringocat2001 Jul 20, 2005
15 Helpfuls 16 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Battery life; lots of features in one unit, small size, great voice navigation
Cons Not reliable, GPS inconsistent, poor customer service, Pocket PC OS not great, programs...
Recommended it? No

I resisted the temptation to review this unit the first week I had it, since it takes a while to learn. I've had it three months now, with mixed results. First the good: the voice navigator is awesome, clear and easy to understand. The car window mount works perfectly. The GPS is sometimes slow to... Read full review »

Pros GPS antenna built in. Good Garmin build quality.
Cons No wireless or VGA screen. Bluetooth stopped working (but Garmin is fixing).
Recommended it? Yes

I have always been interested in GPS technology, and when I decided to purchase the Garmin M5 I was certainly not disappointed. Before I make a purchase like this, I always research it as much as possible.

The M5 is now my 4th GPS system. I picked it because I needed a PDA (you know how... Read full review »

Pros accurate. Light. Full functioned PocketPC. Good maps. Great in emergencies.
Cons Not cheap. Antenna has potential to be broken off if not stowed when GPS off.
Recommended it? Yes

I bought my wife an Ique M5 for Christmas. And it has been a wonderful little gadget! I wish I had one of these for myself.

The M5 is a general purpose Pocket PC, with Word, Excel and a few other programs already installed. The computer will keep your phone/address list, schedule, and... Read full review »

Pros Outstanding navigational capabilities and familiar operating system.
Cons Have to purchase the memory stick seperately to save personal data.

I bought this product over 1 year ago and use it often. I travel a lot on business and purchased this because it combines navigation and personal planning. Even if you have never used a Garmin product before you can quickly learn to navigate even the most difficult city streets with ease. The... Read full review »

Pros Love the PDA GPS combination, comes with all Software and hardware required no extras...
Cons would love WIFI integration
Recommended it? Yes

I had this M5 for 1 month now and I am completely happy with it. I had a 4 year old Garmin e-map GPS which was nice. But this one blows every standalone GPS away. I bought a 2GB SD card and loaded the entire US + Canada maps on it still have 256MB spare. I have all my friends and work addresses... Read full review »

Pros Small, Accurate, Fast, Automatic Re-route Calculation, Lots of applications. I LOVE IT...
Cons Nothing other than a not detailed manual.

I love that GPS/PDA.

I had before Magellan Sport Trak which took forever to get signal, and did not driving directions, it was accurate though. Then I had the Streets and Trips, it was good too but you have to have the Laptop with you all the time.

Now, I have Garmin IQUE M5... Read full review »

Nice Try, but Disappointed

byjammerdjc Jun 20, 2006
1 Helpfuls 2 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros lots of great functionality; pocket PC for all your PDA needs
Cons hangs when finding things, sometimes requiring a hard reset
Recommended it? No

The Garmin iQue M5 is a PDA with the added feature of a GPS. Garmin maps are great as usual and are the best feature of this little device. With all the functionality of a Pocket PC (outlook for mail, contacts, tasks, mp3 player, etc) this should be a great little device. It handily fit in my shirt... Read full review »
