The Garmin 60CSx Is an Excellent State-of-the-Art Handheld GPS Receiver
My needs were for a handheld GPS receiver that could be used for both hiking and automobile navigation. I had been using a Garmin eMap in this way for five years but found having to enter in each navigation route waypoint-by-waypoint to be quite a chore.

I wanted a...

Garmin 60CS GPS = Value for your money
Well, it will be hard to add to the reviews posted by sezrfas and dynamicfigure. They covered this unit pretty well. If you skipped these reviews please go back and read them once you have read mine.
I have posted a link to the technical specs of the 60CS at the bottom of this review...

Attaining Enlightenment atop Fujisan
What is it?
The Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx is a full-featured, consumer model, hand-held, Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver. Operating anywhere in the world, it is capable of using signals from up to twelve of a constellation of twenty-four orbiting GPS satellites. Operating in the United...

Great GPS Unit
This is a great little GPS (Global Positioning System) unit and we still continue to be impressed with how much it does. We have owned the unit for about 4 months and still cannot be happier with the purchase. Our main motivation for getting a GPS unit was for car navigation but it was also... Read full review »
Now this is what GPS should look like!
After owning a Garmin eTrex Legend for all of 24 hours, I realized that I wasn't going to be happy with a small black and white screen, no turn-by-turn driving navigation, and the inferior nature of built-in antennas. While considerably more expensive, the C60 has all the features that will make me... Read full review »
The best mobile unit I have used
I have been road testing a 60c and compared it to other non-colour models such as the Etrex, Etrex Vista, and the Garmin map76S. The result was, I had to buy one for myself.
It looks a bit like a big mobile phone so I don't feel too daft walking around towns with it. You can always...

Greatest Handheld Unit On Market
My workplace purchased this unit at my request about three months ago. It is a step above every other similar unit that I've ever used (I am a scientist and work with GPS, GIS, and remote sensing technologies on a daily basis). We bought this unit for use in scientific research. We paid about $400... Read full review »
Great GPS unit
After having this unit for about a year and using it for everything including hiking, hunting, skiing, and driving I cannot say enough good things about it. Though I have never submerged it for prolonged periods of time, I have slipped and fell into a river with it, soaked it on rain filled hikes,... Read full review »
Sexy and powerful, but requires your first-born.
OK, I agree with most of the reviews that the 60csx is about as good as you can get. The 20 channel receiver and the new SIRF-III processor outperforms any GPSr I have seen to date. I routinely have 10 satellites locked even under cover. The basemap that comes with the unit is good, but comparable... Read full review »
The Last GPS I'll ever buy.
About 2 months ago I sold my eTrex Legend and bought the GPSMap 60C. I am happy I took the step ahead.
The unit fits nicely into the hand. Since the thumbstick has been removed, the GPS is now operated just as easily with the left hand as the right. The buttons have been moved from the...
