Do you have an adventurous spirit? Give Lucy a try!

Pros Spectacularly inventive routes you may never take otherwise, touchscreen is fantastic, many routing options.
Cons She sometimes mispronounces things. UC Berkeley comes out "Uck Berkeley", which is about right.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I have not found another mobile GPS with the features, accuracy, and flair that the Garmin 2720 has. I highly recommend this unit.
You can get specs from www.garmin.com. I am not here to help with specs, I will instead give you a real life example of usage.

Our first experience with Garmin's 2720,(which we lovingly refer to as Lucy), was on a 2-week roadtrip from northern California to San Diego, with many stops in between. On all previous trips, we would print out page after page of internet mapping from Google Maps or Mapquest. The problems with this are many. First off, they are not always right. Secondly, what if you need gas, or a fast-food break, or you simply change your mind on what you want to do? All the maps in the world don't help in these cases.

I should probably mention that I have a four wheel drive and love to use it whenever possible. That being said, we had our options set to fastest route with 4x4 allowed. The routing options are endless, but this gives you an idea of our purpose. After having traveled to our first destination in Pasadena to see the little old lady, (she wasn't there), we found a decent motel with ease and a dinner destination as well.

The next morning, we decided to head over the hills toward the San Diego Wild Animal Park, an expected 2 and a half hour drive. Oddly enough, Lucy tells us to continue past the freeway entrance we are expecting to take, and go into the hills a bit. We decide to follow her instead of our instincts, even though we are going what seems like the wrong way. In fact, we were brought to a fairly unused, weedy, one lane old Jeep road. All of a sudden, this normally boring clustered LA freeway drive turned into an adventure! Mostly unpaved, with tight squeezes by the lovely smelling white sage, crunching California native weeds under-tire, this road was one of the high-points of the entire trip.

Amazingly, we ended up coming out onto a paved road about 2 miles from our destination after about two and a half hours of spectacularly fun driving with vistas galore, and not another person in sight. Never would we have found this without Lucy.

Since then, we have used our Garmin 2720 everywhere we travel, including the big island of Hawaii for two weeks. She found us Ken's house of Pancakes,(the best breakfast on the planet), and just about everything else we could have asked for without ever having to ask for directions or pull out a map. We put 1300 miles on our rental Jeep that trip!

I think it's clear that I Love Lucy, and would recommend her to anyone who travels, and especially to those with an adventurous spirit.
