Very Good Overall, I am happy with my choice after researching GPS units

Pros color touch screen, extremely easy to use, automatic rerouting when missing a turn
Cons power chord, quirks in route selection when calculating a route, instruction manual
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  if you are looking for a Gps unit for your car, this is a good one
I agree that the Garmin 2720 is a very good unit overall. it does have a few quirks in the way it selects your route to a destination. some of this was in the preferences I chose in the parameters of the unit. playing with those settings did help some, but not all of the troubles. I have had a few problems with the power chord as 1 other review noted. being careful as I place the unit on the dash has seemed to cure that. a lock of some sort would seem appropriate here. I have not had any real satelite tracking problems, even when I go thru the tunnel in Boston. I lose the signal briefly and then it picks right back up as the horizon comes back into view and resumes the route you were on when it went off the signal. I have found several street level names that were not what the actual street is called. I also had an issue trying to find second street in one address, the unit called it 2nd street. when trying to type in the address as I had it, the unit could not find it. I really like the color touch screen and how the software works to help you find an address or city, whatever you might be looking for. i put an address in and give the unit to my girlfreind and she has no experience using a unit like this at all. no problems for her either. I was initially concerned about the size of the screen, but with the automatic zoom going on I found that it is sufficient size. The instruction manual doesnt do a very good job telling a lot of extra information. you get what you need to operate the unit, but extra info like being able to drag your finger over the map and have it pan to that motion, for example, is not listed in the manual. this seems to be a common problem with many electronics today.
