I love my Garmin
Pros
Fast to lock on to the satellite. Re-routing on the 'fly'
Cons
Points of Interest a little out of date and sometimes odd choices for routing

Yes
The Bottom Line:
Buy it it is great
How ever did I live without this? I bought my Garmin nuvi 650 GPS for Christmas 2007 from Costco.com. I find it very handy to use. It has a great battery life (NO ciggy lighter so this was important to me). It plays mp3's, photo uploads and uses a SD digital card for media storage. Heck, I can use it like an ipod if I wanted to.
It seems to acquire the satellite signal very fast compaired to the Tom Tom we looked at. I love that this is a portable unit and I can move it from car to car. I decided to buy the optional friction mount 'bean bag' holder rather than the suction cup thing that fell off of the windshield every time it got cold. (I live in IDAHO it gets COLD here a LOT!).
My only concern is that sometimes it routes you in unusual ways. (Maybe I drive wierd and it is right; but I am not driving out of my sub-division to a street 5 block away to get to another street IN my sub-division!)
I does re-route you with ease when a turn is missed. Some of the POI are out of date but all in all it is a good tool. I really like it.
