Economical GPS that works

Pros Runs without power cable, bright screen, lots of POIs and voice directions
Cons On screen indicator not always distinguishable, not good when avoid highway
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Offers a wide screen and essential features at a great price.
We've been hesitant to get a GPS because we don't go out of town frequently and we already know the roads in our neighborhood..then came Christmas and the Garmin nuvi 200w came to us as a gift.
The GPS was easy to setup right out of the box, just put the suction cup to the windshield, plug it in and it will start to look for the satellites.  The cool thing is it recharges and runs without the power cord so it looks clean on the windshield.
Satellite location was quick and responsive, once it triangulates you can set up your home location so you can just hit 'go home' to get directions.  The 'find nearby' feature is really cool, just name your location like 'restaurants' and it will tell you the direction and distance where each restaurant is at.  So when you are driving and feel like Arby's, you get the point.  The number POIs or Points of Interests are huge so you get all the airports, museums, etc.
The navigation display is bright and clear but the choice of color could be better.  It uses a magenta color to lead the way and it is not always obvious.  The lady announcer's voice was pleasant and it is a must have because we can't always be looking at the screen.
There are 2 modes of navigation, one that uses highways and the other that avoids them.  The highway version of navigation worked really well, but the one that avoids highways is very inaccurate, it took us around and around the block.
Even though we thought we did not need a GPS, this unit is always sitting on our windshield helping us get to the place we want.  Overall the features and performance of this unit is good, especially for the price.
