The Bottom Line:
A great deal for the money!
I needed a GPS for a long trip, but was concerned about price and complexity. I also wanted one that was large enough to see. Then the 205W came into my life. I picked it up for about $200 new in January and had it installed in my truck. It's got a nice, bright screen and rather easy to use controls. The widescreen feaute is a big plus in my book. The extra width makes viewing much easier, especially if you sit far back in the seat.
Navigating the menu's is rather easy, however the zoom (+/-) buttons on the map screen can be a bit finicky, especially while driving.
The 205w has the typical voice guided directions (which i turn off), an sD memory card slot for viewing photos, a feature which tell you your elevation, gps coordinates and nearest hospital, PD and gas station. As with most, if not all GPS units, you can search for hotels, food, gas, attractions, etc with just a few clicks.
The pre-loaded maps themselves are rather accurate. Only a few times did my destination not exist.
I use my GPS for basic functions all around and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a no-frills, basic GPS that does not break the bank.
My 205w came with a windshield suction cup clip, and power cable.
