The Bottom Line:
The perfect everyman's GPS unit.
I go on a lot of business trips and usually wind up renting the GPS from the rental car companies so I figured to go out and just buy one...and I got the Garmin Nuvi 205W.
The Nuvi 205W is the perfect "meat and potatoes" GPS unit. For a great price you get everything you need in a GPS and nothing you don't (do I really need my GPS to play music for me?). Its maps are second to none, the voice guided directions are easy to understand and the screen is large and bright. The user interface is very easy to understand all the relevant info is right at your fingertips.
I have used some other brands and I think the Nuvi's interface and general user experience to be the best out there. This is the unit I'm getting for my parents for Chistmas and they are not what I'd call tech-savy but I have no doubt they'll be able to use the 205W no problem.
Battery life is also very good should you ever want to take it out of the car and use it as a handheld.
It also allows you to store pictures on it but I doubt I'd ever use that feature as I have ten other devices that hold pictures too.
