It will leave you wanting something better

Pros Inexpensive, very small, audio better than other similar sized radios
Cons hard to tune, drifty, suffers from most known shortwave problems
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  As good as it gets for $40
It's hard to bash this little radio because it is so cute and inexpensive. And what can you really expect for under $40CAD? Still, I can't help but wonder if shoppers wouldn't be better served with something twice the money, twice the size and a lot more satisfying. I received this radio as a gift and shortly after went out and purchased something better.

I found that one needs the hands of a surgeon to tune it and it is rather drifty so you will need to re-tune it, sometimes often. It is surprisingly sensitive on shortwave and FM but, as has been said, the AM not so much. It's small enough that you won't mind bringing it everywhere in a pocket and cheap enough that you can risk getting it stolen when you travel. The sound quality is not too bad for it's size if the room is quiet and the sound through the headphones is great. It really couldn't be easier to use and the build quality seems fine. I feel this radio is a decent value for the money.

Still, for $30 more one could buy the well rated Kaito 1101, another palm sized receiver with far better performance and features. Worth a look.
