My First Smart Phone

Pros Easy to use. Compact. Reliable service.
Cons Touch screen takes some time to get used to. Mine broke after 6 months.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  The HTC Touch gave me an easy transition to the Smart phone world. I recommend this product to anybody what wants to make the jump to.
I was one of the many people who's phone was less than impressive, until one day I walked into radio shack and looked around. There were many choices however one phone caught my attention. The HTC Touch. I had never had a Smart phone before so I was cautious about making the jump. I was nervous about the full touch screen, however, after playing around with it a couple minutes the touch screen was second nature to me. The Touch-Flo technology in the HTC Touch made my movements from menu to menu effortless. I was hooked. I flagged down a sales rep and I was on my way out the door with my new phone. I was in puppy love like anybody else that has just gotten a new phone. Being a PC user, Window Mobile(the OS for the phone) made adjusting to the menu style and programs a breeze. I did however have some trouble setting up my e-mail to come to my phone, but I got it on the second try. The included stylus tucked away made navigating allot easier, but slowed me down a little(a small compromise).  I dropped it a couple day after I walked out of that Radio Shack store, but nevertheless it still worked. I did have a short life, only about 6 months before I was turning in a claim for the insurance I purchased(I recommend the insurance). All of a sudden the touch screen stopped working. When the screen stops working you can't do anything but answer phone calls and call people that are still in your call history. That was a pain... You can only control a little with the few buttons supplies(Talk, End, and the directional arrows with an OK button). After a while tho, I got tired of the touch screen and it became a pain more than anything. I'm a big text-er so I had a little bit of trouble communication with the touch screen. I did discover that its best to use the touch keypad compared to the touch keyboard. To sum it up. I like the HTC Touch for a jump to a smart phone. It was easy to transition to since Windows is pretty well known to most people. It was also relatively reliable. The HTC Touch was definitely user friendly and had enough to keep me entertained. I didn't like fact that I had to use the touch screen for EVERYTHING. The screen tended to get fingerprints all over it and was impossible to keep clean. All said and done I would recommend the HTC Touch to anybody that wants a smart phone with an easy transition to the high tech.
