The Bottom Line:
This is a great touch-screen phone. There are many choices available, but the simple design and tough durability make this an excellent option.
When time came to renew my contract, I also needed a new phone. I had a Razor knock-off and had grown accostumed to the size of a slim phone. My husband had a touch-screen phone, and suggested I get one. He also wanted me to step up into internet-ready phone.
We decided on the HTC Touch, partly because it is on of the few touch-screen phones offered by my service provider, and partly because of its size.
I have been rather pleased with the phone. The screen can be touched by finger or with stylus. There are many ways to "type" when texting or using the internet. It comes with many programs. If you are not already familiar with internet-capable phones, there may be a learning curve. If you are not familiar with touch-screen technology, there may be a learning curve. However, these curves are not steep.
I am also impressed with the sturdiness of this phone. During the winter, my daughter dropped it in the snow. It was out in the snow and extreme cold for a couple hours. Once found, it had no operating issues. The phone was also involved in another accident, dropped by a car and run over. It remains in one piece. The screen did crack a little, and the crack grew worse over time. The crack destroys the LCD bit by bit. However, the touch screen still works on the crack and LCD. The phone, after months, is starting to behave a little oddly, as though someone is touching the screen and opening programs. However, given the circumstances, that is an issue that is reasonable.
This is a nice little phone, small and current technology.
