Sony Handycam DCR-HC90 Mini DV Camcorder

I bought the Sony HC90 based upon information that an external microphone could be hooked up (I also bought the Sony WCS-999 wireless microphone to work with it). Turns out the only microphone that can be hooked up is a proprietary clip on top of the camcorder microphone. Even Sony's wireless microphone that I bought will not work with this camcorder because the WCS-999 using the normal 1/8 inch microphone input as does just about every other microphone out there. I called technical support and they said that they could not provide me with a solution other than to buy a different camcorder.

I am writing this review to warn others before buying if they are going to be wanting to hook up an external microphone for interviews or for hearing a person more clearly with something like a wireless microphone.
