Good enough for HTPC.
Pros
RELIABLE, I've had HK for years.
Cons
It was pricy. No DTS, no THX cert.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I bet you may be seeing these on ebay or something, and you're wondering if this OLD DD reciever will last, it will. Now isn't that Very helpful? ahem...
I've had this reciever for years and years. It was a powerful Dolby Digital Reciever. 55 watts, 75 when in stereo. These are always a lot louder than other 100 watt systems, because HK does push a lot of amps.
Hk designes stuff like this: KISS: Keep it simple stupid; it's beautiful; doesn't look like starship enterprise with a million oddly shaped and sticking out buttons, it's probably high-mid end equipment. I personally use this in my Home Theater Computer, so it's used for MP3 listening and DVD watching, that's it. I've used it with my SBLive! and SB Audigy. It works better with the Audigy. I'll write more later.
