lack of button lights

When it comes to CD players, there are lot of factors to consider in choosing the right one. Now take all those factors and throw them away. The Harman/Kardon Fl8350 is the best it gets for its price range. The sound is simply amazing - with 96x oversampling, the HK 8350 plays discs flawlessly. IT's built like a rock and can take punishment, but who would ever want to hurt such a wonderful piece of audio equipment?!?!
The GOOD
1. sound - the 8350 plays without embellishing music
2. durability - built like a rock and solid.
3. beautiful - black and simple, the 8350 is beautiful to look at it
4. remote - smart layout of buttons
The BAD
1. the only thing one could harp on is *maybe* the lack of lights on the front panel. Without a lightsource, its hard to make out the buttons. Of course, after using it for a couple weeks, its easy to memorize the functions.
I bought my unit through an online auction site and got it for a steal at $100. While it was refurbished, I trust H/K to fix any problems and everything worked out fine. I couldn't be happier with a piece of audio equipment. The player works without flaw. It may not have HDCD, but hey - I only payed a hundred bucks for it! Of course, I would gladly pay another couple hundred bucks on top of what I payed.
This product is perfect for beginning audiophiles or even for casual listeners who want the best at a modest price.
