Audiophiles should not expect too much from cheap speakers!
I just picked up a set of the HK 19.5's, and all I have to say is that the sound quality is crisp and true. I hear a lot of people whining that there are no indivual bass and treble controls...leave the tone knob on it's middle setting and tweak the EQ on your media player!

Only good if you don't expect much
Seemingly, these Harman/Kardon HK 19.5 speakers are good. However, as it turns out, they only maintain their form for basic use. Speakers You Can't Pass By!
When I purchased these speakers from TigerDirect.com for $15, I thought they would have an average sound quality(or worse) and would not have good bass. You'll Be Surprised
Honestly, ones satisfaction with these small PC speakers depends on the users needs and expectations. I received them three years ago as part of a cheap (and it was cheap then) Dell home PC package. Since then I have lived in four different places and have enjoyed them to varying degrees.

Newer doesn't always mean better
This speaker is the replacement of a previous model, which also shared the same model number. But that's about all that is common between the two models.
The previous model had much better clarity, depth and bass, and also had separate bass and treble controls, all of which are not found...

great for low volumes and bass
these speakers are pretty good, i am not sure of how many watts they produce. each unit has a green light on it and the right speaker has a tone control and a volume control. the the speakers are slightly tilted back so that they are aimed at the ears. i have three sets of speakers in my room. one...
