I purchased this unit from Harman Kardons web site on Ebay. It may still be available on Harmanaudio.com as well. The price was incredible ($445) and I've owned Harman Kardon equipment before. This unit replaced my AVR-25 II. The main reason I upgraded was for the dolby digital and DTS functions. I was thoroughly pleased with my previous unit and this one makes that one feel like a relic. I just can't seem to wipe the grin off my face when I am listening to my favorite movies and with the DTS enabled it's like listening to an entirely new movie. I can recommend this item wholeheartedly to anyone who is thinking of doing an upgrade of less than $500 to their system.
Do not let the lower wattages that are reported for this stereo fool you into believing that this is not one seriously powerful receiver. This one will put out sound levels that are far into the ridiculous range. When the receiver is set at an appropriate level, the sound quality is incredible. The ability to amplify cleanly is important and this amplifier does a fantastic job.
