I've just bought this CD-player (5 days ago), and it already broke down!
Pros
Beautiful sound, great styling!
Cons
Mechanical problems after only 5 days of extremely light use! Made in China...of course!
Recommended it?

The Bottom Line:
Get a CD-player from another brand! Harman Kardon may be a great option for receivers but still has a lot of homework to do concerning CD-players!
I've just bought this CD-player, along with a brand new Harman Kardon receiver (HK-3480) and a couple of great Polk speakers and, believe it or not, the CD-player already broke down!
I was convinced by the salesman to buy this player based on Harman Kardon's great reputation and beautiful sound reproduction and also by the convenience of having both the CD-player and the receiver controlled by the same remote control unit.
I read some pretty scary reviews about the former version of this CD-player, and was confident that perhaps Harman Kardon had fixed the problems on this newer model. I should have known better!!!
I got my CD-player last friday, I've hardly played more than 15 CDs since then and tonight (tuesday) it's already refusing to work properly!!! I was playing a CD and when I inserted a new disc (using the disc-exchange feature) it simply refused to continue playing the first disc or the disc I had just placed into the tray! I tried to open the tray and it wont open either, until I had to turn the player off and then turn it on again!
I must say that the sound is really superb, but what's the use of superb sound if you have mechanical problems after just a couple of days!
My old Sony gave me almost 15 years of trouble free playing and this CD-player (which is twice as expensive as most Sony players are) is giving me headaches after only 5 days!
Tomorrow morning I will go to the place where I bought it and I'll try to get my money back!
