Remember the juke boxes in restaurants - now you can have your own
Pros
Great for parties, set it up, it will play for hours and hours.
Cons
A larger internal memory for an internal database would be nice.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I recommend this unit to anyone who has a large collection and does not want to continuously have to change the Cds one or five at a time.
Juke boxes have come a long way since those large 45rpm machines in restaurants. Anyone who has more than 5 Cds should consider one these. It has a remoter control, will play in sequential, random order or user pre-defined list. It will display the name and author of the Cd if it is a more recent Cd, and you can enter the author or Cd title (13 characters) yourself for older Cds. You can use a standard IBM compatible computer keyboard to enter the information. You can classify your collection into 8 groups for easier classification. You can do any of the regular things other Cd players do such as start on any track or a specific point in a track. If your collection is greater than 300, you can buy a second(third) unit and daisy chain them.
So far, I personally have not yet had a problem with skipping. I have owned my unit since July 2002.
This type of unit will help you protect your Cds. Once in the machine, you don't have to handle the Cd again unless you move or need to move the unit over a large distance. The less you handle your Cds, the cleaner they remain.
A couple of extra things, you will need to keep the jewel boxes just in case you do decide to move, etc and while the unit does basic file grouping and identification, it would be best that you create a list of your own on a database of some kind and then print it out.
I am quite happy with my player and highly recommend it.
I have noticed that prices have come down significantly since I bought my unit, at the current prices this is a very good buy.
