Harman TC-30 LCD Remote Control

At the time I had a choice between the Harman-Kardon TC-30 and an equivalent Logitech remote.  The TC-30 looked better, and it had few more activity buttons than its Logitech cousin.  So I went with the HK product.  It worked OK for a couple of years.  At some point I needed to update it via the PC.  Second or third time since the initial setup.  I found that while the remote is detected as a new hardware, the HK software is not able to see it.  Neither can the Logitech software, which normally can.  So now I have a sleek, sleek remote with a nice color screen that can't do anything.  And helpfully enough, HK stopped supporting their product shortly after I bought it.
