I bought the JBL Reference phones after my perfectly good ipod headphones were stolen (!!!). I own a Harmon/Kardon amplifier for my home theater and have been thoroughly pleased with it. At least it's the right colour
I bought the JBL Reference 220s for my iPod, and tested it back-to-back with the headphones supplied with the iPod.
