The Bottom Line:
Consider getting an extended warranty, I learned my lesson, I thought extended warranty was a waste of money, but you don't want to waste $300.00 for only 13 months!
Worked only for 13 months just one month short of the 365 day warranty, called for tech support which was totally hard to understand (India)! Didn't get any where, tried an on-line support and that didn't work, I exhausted all their knowledge for helping me. I called some local computer stores (3 of them) to see if they could help and, no one could help, scanner was shot, it would cost too much to fix. So I called any number for HP to get an English speaking person and cried to them to HELP, they said it is out of warranty, nothing they could do. I then said so for $300 I more or less only got 13 months of use of this all-in-one! They were empathic to me and said they could do a trade in, so I got a $300.00 all-in-one for $100.00, what could I do, I had to go with it. Now I have a C6180, and so far I am impressed, I will probably get an extended warranty at 11 months of age with this one. I was never into extended warranty service but I will with this, it bets spending $300.00 for 13 months.
