iPAQ GPS
Pros
Great customer services at HP,
Cons
Poor POS DB, fixtures don't work for SUVs, takes too much memory, poor documentation
Recommended it?
No
Recently purchased iPAQ hx4705, needed a GPS, si I bought iPAQ GPS receiver with NAVTEQ from HP. I have two GPS units in my cars, so I kind of knew what to expect. I was kind of disappointed an I am returning my GPS unit.
Issues:
- GPS slippery surface - does not hold on the dashboard
- Vent clip holders do not work for my SUV - can't see the PDA
- No instructions how to mount the PDA or the GPS
- No recommendations of fixture units
- POS database very poor for rural areas - missing even older magastore locations - like K-Mart
- Taking too much memory - constant 'Out of memory" messages with lots of memory and additional card storage.
The unit is going back to HP and I am ordering a TomTom Navigator 5. Hope to have a better luck with that one.
