Has major wireless issues

Pros Prints very fast and with good resolution.  Nice selection of card slots and features.
Cons Network failures.  Poor repair history.  A bit hungry for ink.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Stay away unless HP can certify that the networking issues are resolved.  Very software intensive for the PC.
I purchased one of these about a year ago.  It dropped off my wireless network after a few months.  I called HP and went around and around with tech support.  They had me forcibly assigning IP addresses etc, and the machine just would not activate it's wireless adapter anymore.  They forwarded me to their repair call center in Manila and I never proceeded with a service ticket on it.  I couldn't stand the thought of another 30 minutes or an hour on the phone with less than sympathetic customer service.  I plugged it in to the wired outlet and went on printing.  Then I started to have problems with the stability of the enormous printer applications.  When the IP was reassigned by the DHCP, all network sharing and two-way was lost.  There was no way to rectify the computers graphic interface and 2-way communication without reloading the printer software.  I occasionally get errors on my pc that background printer apps have failed.   There must be many small apps that run in the background to make this printer work.  In my opinion, that is typical HP design...very software and processor intensive.  Very intrusive.  If you plug it into the usb to scan, it wants you to reload the printer software again.  Just very quirky in general.

It also ate a bit of HP's own printer paper and some of the paper followers got hung up in the print head's path.  I got very lucky repairing this on my own.  The plastic in some places on the paper path is a bit flimsy.

Like most printers, ink is reasonably expensive with the 3 colors being about $16/ea and the large blacks being about $40/per cartridge.  I don't think I got a ream out of the small black cartridge, about $24, but it was close.  That's a bit under 5 cents per page in black.

I would not buy this again.
