HP MX-70, say what you want, size does matter
Pros
color enhancement and large screen size
Cons
big and bulky
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
........
When I purchased my new HP-513N tower, I decided I needed a new monitor to go with my snappy new tower. I wanted a flat screen monitor but face it, at the price they charge it would have cost more than the tower. By adding the HP MX-70 monitor to the HP-513N purchase, I added to my rebate options and got a system that was co-ordinated.
There really isn't that much you can say about a monitor. It really isn't anything more than the television screen for the tower, but here are the specs from the owners manual [not my own words]:

As with most monitors it is big and bulky, taking up the larger part of a computer desk. Why is that necessary when they have the capability to make a flat screen monitor? What happens to all that stuff they find necessary to surround with this huge casing in these bulky ones?
It has a jack in the top for an optic camera, which I did not get, and the speakers are nice small ones that sit on the desk. Much different from those large ones that hung on the side of my former monitor. Not that it matters, I never have my sound on anyway. However, I did test them out and the quality is nice and clear and volume adjustable.
The swivel base is more fluid and easier to adjust than my older model and will tilt the screen to stop the glare from overhead lights [or outside lighting, depending on how you have your computer sitting in your room]. I finally located the microphone at the top of the screen. Not really convenient unless it is super sensitive. The screen adjustment buttons are located on the front of the panel to give easy access.
The color resolution is fantastic. I play a lot of games and I really enjoy the enhanced color feature of this monitor. In the same vein, I do a lot of photo editing and the color saturation really helps. That, and the size of the screen, are probably the best things it has going for it. I really enjoy the larger screen, size does matter.
By adding it to the package, I received an additional $50 rebate, taking the price down to $249 for the monitor.
Thanks,
