My first scanner was an inexpensive unfamiliar brand. Not knowing anything about scanners, I just bought the most inexpensive one I could
find. This was fine for a beginner like myself to learn and experiment with, after all I didn't know any different.
I decided to go to Staples Office Supply Store to purchase a new scanner. With all the different varieties they had to offer, I consulted with the salesperson for guidance. He was careful to find out my what my needs were, and guided me accordingly. This scanner is very affordable, and with the manufacturers rebate, and the store's extended warranty, I feel this was a wonderful value.
System Requirements:
PC with Pentium 586 & up or equivalent processor; parallel port, Windows 95 or 98, 16MB Ram or higher, but 32MB Ram recommended; VGA moniter 256 color; CD ROM.
Using my scanner as a stimuli for my creative juices, Adobe Photo Deluxe 2.0 image editor with creative project software was just what I needed. With the Optical Character Recognition capability software, scanning and editing text projects is a snap.
The HP ScanJet automatically determines your file type and resolutions, so you don't have to adjust any settings.
Because computer monitors use lower resolution than printers, your scanned pictures may look better when printed than when displayed on your monitor, at least it did with mine.
With the lift off lid on this flatbed scanner, It allows you to scan 3D objects, like your favorite collectable, an open book or anything you are able to place on the scanner.
This is a quiet scanner, with precision and easy of use and I know you will love it as much as I do.
