Hewlett Packard LaserJet 2840 Printer

I bought this to try to consolidate and update all of my office equipment (color laser / fax / B&W laser / scanner). After owning a Konica Minolta 2300W and being pleased with its color printing, if not totally pleased with the machine overall, I felt certain that this unit would do the trick -- especially after reading the reviews of how wonderful the color printing was. WRONG!!! I have tweaked and twitched and finagled every setting to try and get acceptable color printing. Now, I'm not talking about "exceptional photo quality" here -- I'm just talking about decent color printing. I printed the same photo many times, making note of the settings changes as I printed. After about 15 prints, I've given up. I will be returning (ugh!) the unit to Office Depot tomorrow and go a different route. It's just not worth it to me to spend this much money to be "downgrading" in quality. Hi-res photos directly from my camera card were downright embarassing!! On the good side -- I had no problems whatsoever installing and setting up the printer. I love the fact that it has two paper trays, so that you can keep both letter and legal (or envelopes) handy without doing the "change-the-paper dance."
Unfortunately, the color printing is just too bad to keep the unit.
