Dell it is not

Pros Bright Screen, Price, Value, Performance
Cons Clunky, Wireless switch, Heavy.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  As a value proposition, it makes good business sense for business use.
As a manager and buyer for the traveling workers at my group, I needed to balance the needs of the users and my own sanity. The 6910p offered good performance, portability, durability, and excellent battery life when the optional ultra battery is attached to the bottom. This was key for the users, as they could easily remove it when it wasn't necessary, and it provided an additional 8+ hours of battery life when they did. The enterprise security, management and support features help to make my life easier. While it's built well, it's not as durable as a Thinkpad. But at several hundred dollars less than the Thinkpad, it more than holds its own in terms of features and design. If money is no object, you're hard on your laptop and you don't need to go an entire day without plugging into the wall, the Thinkpad will suit you well. But in terms of performance, features and flexibility that will suit everyone, the HP offers excellent value.

The screen is sharp and bright, even when in battery management mode. The keyboard is a bit ackward in that the casing is very boxy and so it's difficult to rest your palms comfortably while working on the laptop. I definitely hook up to a docking station at the office and use a full size keyboard and mouse when I can.

The only other feature that is a bit annoying is the wireless switch for internet connection. It took me forever to find the switch and good luck finding any information about it online. It's a very tiny touch button just at the top of the keyboard that is extremely hard to see. I know I'll sound like an idiot but it took me 3 hours of searching to figure it out. (Manuels are nice, but I didn't have it with me at home and had never heard of a wireless switch prior).

Anyways, I work in heavy spreadsheets and the 6910p performs adaquetely on all Office products and Powerpoint as well.

For the price, it's a good business only solution. I wouldn't recommend it for personal use.
