Why can't other manufacturers do this???

Pros Best adjustable arm. Built-in USB hub. Great picture quality. Attractive.
Cons Glossy screen.  Takes about 5 seconds to come out of power sleep.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  The monitor is unique in that it can be lowered all the way down to the desk level. Great picture. Attractive looks. Built-in USB hub.
Our new desk is pretty high, and we needed a monitor that could be lowered almost all the way to the desk level.  I've searched far and wide, and this HP monitor was the only 22" display that could adjust to sit just half an inch above the desk surface. Thank you HP!

I'm very happy with this monitor in other respects as well. Here are some of the pros:

* The picture quality for both text and images is excellent. Although just like most LCD monitors this one struggles with Windows ClearType fonts -- black text appears with colorful halos.  Out of 5-6 LCDs over the years only one Samsung monitor displayed ClearType fonts properly. So I had to turn off font effects in Windows.

* The monitor is verry attractive with the black glossy frame around the screen, and recessed narrow silver frame around the black one.

* The monitor has built-in USB hub with two side connectors. This is a must-have feature for me -- it makes connecting iPods and cameras so much easier.

I understand that the monitor also has built-in speakers, but I've never used them.  We just use nice external 3-piece speaker system. The wire management system on the monitor is quite good -- guiding the wires along the sides of the adjustable stand.

The cons list is very short:

1. This is one of the majority of new monitors that has a glossy screen. Personally, I'm not a fan of such screens as they sometimes cause glare depending on the lighting conditions in the room.

2. It takes monitor about 5 seconds to come out of the power sleep mode -- annoying but not a big deal.
