Sharpest Picture I've ever had
Pros
kewl grey case, sharp picture and sound
Cons
remote wont program my secondary systems
Recommended it?
Yes
I bought this television as a replacement for my 20" Zenith. I saw it at the local store and told my wife, "When it goes on sale...I don't care how, but we're buying it!!!" Well it went on sale, and now I will give you the low-down.
By far this television has the sharpest picture I've seen in a long time (even from other popular televisons as Sony and Zenith). Compared to the Sony's that were in the store, the zenith was quite a bit sharper. You can really notice a difference when it comes to DVD's. Of course it helps when you can connect the DVD through S-Video, you just cant imagine the difference in picture quality.
Sound for the television is quite good, but the "simulated" surround sound can give you a horrible echo if you have the television hooked up to a surround sound speaker system. There are inputs in the back to allow for sound input of DVD and VCR's separatelly, and one output to go through to the surround system (or plain receiver). The volume of the surround system can be controlled through the television's control.
One thing this television does lack is control of secondary systems. The "programmable" remote wont control either my VCR or DVD players, nor will it control my CD or surround receiver...the codes just dont work. I'll probably wind up buying a third-party remote to control all my systems, but this lack of control does not take away from the televison itself...it's still quite a beautiful piece of machine.
