Hitachi 43F300 43 in. TV

This TV is a great value with a great picture if you do not demand a 6x9 monitor. The picture from this set is outstanding. It is better than most HDTV sets. I looked at a lot of TVs and this one has a picture that will compare to sets costing thousands more. The other strong point on this set is how regular non HDTV material looks on this set. Many HDTV sets do not produce a very good picture when the feed is from a non HDTV source. Not this set. Even VHS looks great. The TVs does a great job of converting regular signals to either 1080i or 540P, your choice. If you watch a lot of regular TV then this is set is a great choice. 6X9 material, (DVD or HDTV) can be viewed letter boxed or the TV will zoom the picture and fill the whole screen. The fill mode works very well and is better than most DVD players that will also do this. Price is under $1500.
