Hitachi Gets this one right!

Pros Size Picture and Price
Cons Cheap piece of crud remote. Not alot of Picture settings
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Great Picture for Great Price. A keeper for the entry HDTV market.
I own this Hitachi 43 inch projection TV and I am the the envy of all who see it. This high quality unit looks and sounds like one of the more expensive HDTV units on the market and I know it is one of the cheaper models. In this review I will go over all the features available on this model and talk about some of the negative aspects of owning this jewel.

Size Well it is a 43 inch TV and it is perfect for my Living room but you would have to judge for yourself how large you want. I think a TV can be too large for a space so keep that in mind when you make your purchase.

The Picture is very good and there are four diffrent aspect settings so you can customize your screen for the type of content your watching Ie. Letterbox or 4:3 etc. This unit has a 4:3 screen so your Letterbox movies are still in Letterbox.

Hookups There are pleanty of hookups for all your VCR and DVD players and dont forget the X-Box and Game Cube they look awsome on this unit. Watch out if you get motion sickness though.

Remote Cheap piece of Junk as the battery cover falls off every time I look at it crosseyed. It functions but thats all I really have to say about that.

Time Warner Remotes will not program to this TV I guess its too new.

Sound This unit has such good sound that I decided not to buy the surround sound system. The Unit has some kind of Surround sound emulator that really works well. Sound levels change from channel to channel but that may be Time Warner Cable not the TV.

Warranty Mine is only 1 year and its almost out. I hope it dont need fixin cause I dont buy the extended plan.

Placement of Unit. It needs a TV stand. Mine is only 8 inchs high and thats about perfect. I made it myself as the one that they sell with the TV is a piece of crud and they want over $100 for it at Best Buy.

Over all I am very happy with this TV. If you need the best on the market this is not it. If you want HDTV and dont have alot of Money to waste on it then buy this TV.
